This is not an area where many people think of in terms of being environmentally responsible, but there is an alternative option to traditional slate.
An alternative to natural slate is the “Majestic Slate” from EcoStar. Majestic Slate is a polymeric rubber based roof tile designed to provide the look and feel of natural stone slate. Majestic is manufactured with a state of the art formulation using recycled TPO and EPDM synthetic rubber materials.
Majestic Slate is 12” wide and 18” long and ¼” thick and is available in nine colours and four designs. Majestic Slate provides the look and feel of natural slate but with these added advantages:
- High impact resistance which provides protection from hail, falling branches, foot traffic, ice and snow damage.
- Majestic Slate can be installed up to 8 times faster than natural stone slate.
- The colour in Majestic Slate has been added during formulation which provides for colour throughout the product and long term reliability. As with all roofing products natural fading will occur adding to the natural feel of Majestic Slate.
